July 3, 2009 - My article, "Crowdsourcing the Public Participation Process for Planning Projects," was published in Planning Theory. In it, I make the case that crowdsourcing can work in urban planning participation programs, something we're finding out is fairly true with the Next Stop Design case.

August 30, 2009 - The special issue of Rocky Mountain Communication Review on "New Media, New Relations," which I guest edited, was published.  The issue is a special forum of short pieces from several graduate students studying new media and its impact on industry, culture, politics, and more.

September 25, 2009 - Next Stop Design, the Federal Transit Administration-funded project I'm heading up to test crowdsourcing in transit planning, came to a close.

October 9, 2009 - Gave the local keynote address at the Utah Open Source Conference.

October 29-November 1, 2009 - Presented lessons learned from Next Stop Design at Rail~Volution in Boston.

November 9, 2009 - My blog post for Henry Jenkins' blog was cited in a Huffington Post article!

Spring 2010 - Teaching Writing for New Media and Living the eLife at the University of Utah.

January 10-14, 2010 - Tom Sanchez and Keith Bartholomew presented our paper at the Transportation Research Board conference in Washington, D.C.

January 13, 2010 - My Threadless motivations paper was accepted for publication in Information, Communication & Society.

March 2-4, 2010 - Presenting a paper for the 2010 Stakeholder Engagement virtual conference.

April 10-13, 2010 - Presenting results from Next Stop Design at the American Planning Association conference in New Orleans.

July 1, 2010 - I begin as an assistant professor of public relations and new media in the School of Journalism & Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
